Define the outage service level
Decide whether the generator will support life-safety systems, business continuity, refrigeration, selected comfort loads or the whole building. Mark loads that may be shed. A clear service level prevents an expensive whole-building assumption from replacing a useful critical-load plan.

Sequence lifts, pumps and HVAC
Lifts, fire or water pumps, compressors and HVAC equipment can dominate starting demand. Provide equipment data and state which loads reconnect first after transfer. The site engineer must also confirm any legally required emergency-power separation.

Control sound and exhaust
For occupied or neighboring properties, send the required sound target and measurement distance together with the intended generator location. Ventilation, exhaust discharge, fuel storage and maintenance access must be designed for the actual building rather than inferred from canopy construction alone.

Specify transfer and autonomy
Tell us the transfer method, acceptable outage duration, expected outage length and required fuel autonomy. Diesel is practical where stored fuel is permitted; natural gas depends on a resilient supply that remains available during the outage scenario being planned.
