Separate seasonal load groups
List irrigation, ventilation, refrigeration, grain handling, lighting and building loads separately. Note which systems operate during planting, harvest, hot weather or an outage. This prevents a short seasonal peak from being hidden inside an annual average.

Capture pump and fan starts
Provide motor kW, voltage, phase and starting method for the largest irrigation pump, refrigeration compressor or ventilation fan. Soft starters and variable-frequency drives can change the starting profile, but their manufacturer data is still needed for a reliable review.

Protect continuity-critical systems
Identify livestock ventilation, milking, water, cold-room and control circuits that cannot wait during an outage. State the allowable transfer time and whether loads will be added in stages after startup. A qualified local designer must coordinate transfer and farm electrical protection.

Tell us the available fuels
Diesel offers portable stored energy; a natural-gas set requires confirmed gas quality, pressure and flow. If the farm has biogas or another non-standard gas, send a composition analysis—do not assume it matches the natural-gas engine requirement.
