Generator application

Data Center Generator Planning

Prepare load-step, UPS, redundancy and fuel information for a critical digital-infrastructure power review.

Factory overview

What we build and what we need from you.

Data centers require engineered standby systems rather than a generator selected from IT load alone. The project team must provide UPS topology, cooling demand, battery recharge behavior, load steps, redundancy concept and compliance requirements. Our role is to review the generator-set portion against that controlled specification.

01

Translate IT load to generator load

Provide UPS input data, efficiency, power factor, harmonic characteristics, bypass condition and battery recharge settings. Include cooling, pumps, controls, lighting and support loads. Rack kW by itself is not the generator kW.

02

Define the recovery sequence

State which UPS modules, chillers, fans and pumps reconnect at each step and the allowable voltage and frequency deviation. A staged sequence may reduce the largest step, but it must match the actual controls strategy.

03

Keep redundancy claims controlled

N, N+1 or 2N architecture, maintenance concurrency and fault tolerance are system-level design decisions. GENKVA will not claim a data-center tier or compliance level unless the complete project design and required verification are independently established.

04

Submit the transient requirements

Send steady kW/kVA, largest step, acceptable dip and recovery time, voltage, frequency, ambient conditions, fuel autonomy, paralleling requirements and applicable standards. These inputs determine whether the current 37.5–250 kVA range is relevant.
